Using Your New Coral Cockatoo Silk Screen Is Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy!

Firstly condition and prepare your clay.

When ready, place your silk screen on top of your unbaked clay so that you can read the Coral Cockatoo logo. Place a small amount of acrylic paint at the top of the design and use an old card to gently spread the paint across the pattern of the silkscreen at a 45 degree angle ensuring the paint is evenly distributed. Remove your silkscreen by gently lifting the bottom right hand corner moving towards the top left corner. Immediately wash your silkscreen in cool running water with every use. Place your new silkscreen near natural light and allow to dry and re harden. Allow your paint to dry and then begin the next step of your artistic masterpiece!

• We recommend using a good quality Artists Acrylic Paint. We use Ironlak and Derivan Matisse Structure.
• Be generous with the amount of paint you apply.
• Be gentle but firm when moving your paint across the Silkscreen with an old cardboard business card or scraper.
• It is essential to wash your silkscreen IMMEDIATELY in cold running water. Your paint will start to set in the silkscreen as soon as you apply it.
• Support your silkscreen with your hand under the gentle cool running water, you may gently rub the silkscreen with your finger to help guide away the unused paint under the running water. We really do mean gently!
• NEVER use hot water, detergent or scrubbing brush/sponge on any sort. This will cause the emulsion to detach from the silk and ruin your silkscreen.
• Dry flat on a sheet of paper towel near natural light.

Using Your New Water Transfer Decal Is Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy!

Condition and prepare your polymer clay, cut it out using your favourite cutter. Bake clay according to manufacturers instructions. Sand your clay pieces ensuring the surface you want to place the decal on is smooth and dust free. Turn the decal sheet over so you are looking at the back side, place the clay piece decal face down onto the sheet, trace around it with a pencil. Cut out your shape leaving a small border. Place decal in room temperature water for 30-60 seconds or until backing paper starts to slide away. Place the decal on your clay piece, with a wet finger gently hold one point of your decal whilst the opposite point gently pull the backing out from between the clay and decal. With your wet finger gently push out any air bubbles. Allow to dry for 3 hours out of direct sunlight. Cure your decal in your oven at 110 degrees Celsius for 10 - 15 minutes.Allow to cool slowly. Remove piece and coat with desired resin or other sealant.
